Am Champion Muller Kazar Sungold Illusion at Toybox
At the beginning of the nineties the first American imports started to be seen in the British rings. Possibly the first American Pom to be shown was the ultra pretty boy imported by Miss Smail of the Toybox kennel: Am. Ch. Muller Kazar Sungold Illusion at Toybox who was a tiny orange of exquisite type. In England he won one CC but never titled though he finished his Irish title and sired many winners. Miss Smail has been importing many Pomeranians from different countries. Another influential American import was the lovely Ch. Stolanne Highway To Heaven at Toybox who sired many champions. He was by the lovely Ch. Stolanne Mistique Starlet, sister to the famous Ch. Stolanne Thunderbolt Thor. exquisite type. Kansas Duster at Cygal and Ch. LLL High Light Thumbelina at Cygal. The latter was a daughter of the famous Ch. Tim Sue Highlight and had a fantastic career with tons of CCs and group placements. Mr. Finley Bisset also had successfully shown another bitch named Ch. Kerryhill Jasbrew of Pomanna who won BOB at Crufts 1990.
A male Pom who has had a big impact as a producer was Ch. Bilijees Welsh Wizard, bred and owned by Mr. and Mrs. Stone of the Bilijees kennel. Born in 1993 he was sired by another big producer, Tookeys Welsh Gold, and has sired many top winners including a few champions and a Crufts BOB winner.
During 1994 two Pomeranian stars were bred, both have been great show dogs and great producers though they had different type, color and pedigree: Ch. Casarow's The Red Devil and Ch. Cradarr Military Tattoo The former (owned and bred by Mr. and Mrs. Sparrow) was, as the name suggests, a red and I have already talked about his parents. He was a group winner and was awarded 16 CCs. He sired many winners including a few British champions the most notable of those is Ch. Casarow's Schizo Phonic, a top winning bitch who has had a great career with Crufts CC and #1 Pom.
Champion Cradarr Military Tattoo
Ch. Cradarr Military Tattoo was an outstanding wolf/sable owned and bred by Mrs. Wallace and line bred to Ch. Toybox Platignum Phantom. His mother was sired by Cradarr Choir Boy a male who never got his title but proved to be a very influential stud. Military Tattoo was a dream of a Pom who had both type and showmanship. He had a fantastic career winning many groups and was twice BOB at Crufts. He kept making his presence felt even from the veteran class. Not only was he a great champion but also he proved to be a fantastic producer as well with many champion offspring. He died last year and it was such a big loss for the breed; undoubtedly one in a lifetime dog for Mrs. Wallace.
Champion Thelbern Mardi Gras
Mrs. Alsford of the Thelbern kennel sent many of her Poms to the Cawtheras of the Lireva kennel to be successfully shown. Among those, two bitches deserve a special mention: Ch. Thelbern Jolie Madame and Ch. Thelbern Mardi Gras. The former was a successful group winning show Pom. The latter, born in 1996, eventually shattered the breed record when she won her 39th challenge certificate and became the top winning CC winner in the breed. Mardi Gras was by Thelbern The Fancy Man x Thelbern Wilhelmina. When bred to Lireva's Star Kissed, she produced a lovely black male: Thelbern Black To The Future for Lireva, himself a championship show winner.
Ch. Foxmitch Fiery Fox is a pretty orange male that deserves a mention not for his show success but for his offspring among whom there are many champions. He is owned/bred by Mrs. Fox and was born in 1997 sired by Foxmitch Escada Beaute x Bilijees Gold Locket at Foxmitch.
Champion Moonrae Ebony Hot Shot
A star performer who left a huge mark in the show ring recently was the exquisite black male Ch. Moonrae Ebony Hot Shot, born in 1998 and sired by Trenarwyn Ebony Master out of Carrosita Somethin' Special. He was bred and owned by Mrs. Smith but during his sensational career he was handled by Miss Odd. In 2000 he resulted as #1 toy dog in the United Kingdom and among the top dogs all breed. He won the group many times and was Reserve BIS on a few occasions. Many feel he simply was unlucky never to win a Best In Show. Unfortunately, he died last year at a very young age but he left a champion son and other winners.
Among the more recent imports of Miss Eve Smail, a dog that is leaving a mark as a producer is Multi Ch. Petipomfinch Dandi Creation at Toybox. He has been successful as a show dog; gaining both his Irish and his UK title with a group and reserve BIS win. However, as a stud he is proving to be a force to be reckoned with. He keeps siring lovely Poms and many are already top champions themselves including Ch.Toybox Golden Opportunity (Crufts 2007 CC winner) and the exquisite Multi Ch. Belliver Latest Creation, multi group winner, world winner 2006 and dog of the year in Ireland. I am sure many more will follow.
Following in the great Ch Toybox Platignum Phantom, Sue Smith Has bred Many Top Winners. However another male that is following phantoms foots steps is Ch SueAcres Unexpected, a young dog who finished fast and has already sired a couple of champion bitches. He is by Sidar no more mr Nice Guy and orange male line bred on Ch Derronils Maxamillion and also the sire of Mrs Maureen Greggs Ch Casarows Shine a Light. Ch Casarows Shine a Light was bred by Mr and Mrs Sparrow who at present are showing a black male who is shattering all the records his name is Ch Casarows night Fever, in the first 6 months of 2007, alone , he has won two BIS all breed, one Reserve BIS, One Group BIS, BIS at Scottish Pomeranian Club, 7 Group wins,( as of todays date 14/09/06) one of the group wins was at the UK Toydog Society Championship Show, the UKs Top Toy show. He has won the most ccs for a Black Pomeranians and he is proving to be a great ambassador for our beloved poms.
